Our marvellous Isaiki Labradors puppies eagerly await their first vaccine and veterinary health check at the clinic. They all passed with flying colour!
Welcome to Isaiki Labradors. We are a family-run and passion-driven breeding endeavour located in the beautiful city of South Manchester.
Our love for Labrador Retrievers began when we welcomed our very first furry friend into our home back in August of 2006.
Since then, we have been dedicated to breeding and raising show type Labrador Retrievers in black, yellow and chocolate colours.
At Isaiki Labradors, the welfare of our dogs is paramount and our expertise in breeding these beloved dogs has been honed over many years of experience, and we take great pride in producing healthy, well-tempered and adjusted Labrador puppies that make wonderful companions for families of all sizes.
As a breeder we are committed to providing the highest quality Labrador Retrievers possible. We carefully select our breeding pairs based on their health, temperament, and conformation to breed standards. We also conduct health checks on all of our puppies to ensure that they are free from any genetic disorders or other health issues.
We believe that a Labrador Retriever is not just a pet, but a member of the family, and we treat each and every one of our dogs with the love and care that they deserve.
Labrador Retrievers are a remarkably healthy breed with relatively few breed-specific health concerns. Nevertheless, at Isaiki Labradors, we place a strong emphasis on the health and wellbeing of our breeding stock. To achieve this, we work closely with the British Veterinary Association and Kennel Club health schemes, subjecting all of our Labrador Retrievers breeding stock, both dogs and bitches, to comprehensive health test screening. Be the first to hear about new Isaiki Labradors puppies, availability, and helpful pet advice.
Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
• Once you’ve made initial contact with us via email or phone and we’ve discussed the details of getting an Isaiki Labradors, you can request to complete our puppy owners’ preliminary questionnaire.
• Upon reviewing your questionnaire, if we believe you could be a good match for one of our puppies, we’ll notify you.
• To stay updated on confirmed pregnancies and new litters, follow us on Instagram for regular updates or check our website periodically.
• Two weeks after the puppies are born, you can contact us to arrange a video call as part of our vetting process, provided the sex and colour of the puppy you requested are available. If not, please follow our Instagram for updates on future litters or check our website periodically.
• After successful vetting and for the safety of our puppies, you must provide proof of address and ID and pay the deposit to secure an Isaiki Labradors puppy.
• From that moment, you’ll receive regular video and photo updates on all the puppies. I’ll be able to tell you how they’re developing, their weights, and from four weeks old their little characters and temperaments will start shining through.
• From 6 weeks old, you’re welcome to visit the puppies.
• Puppies will be ready to leave for their forever homes at the earliest from 8 weeks old. This is once they have passed their veterinary full health checkups and received their first vaccine.
• To ensure fairness, we’ve implemented a randomised selection process for choosing a puppy. We organise a scheduled time for each person to make their selection, allowing them to choose based on their preferences within that timeframe. This way, everyone has an equal opportunity to pick a puppy without any advantage or bias.
As a responsible breeder, we prioritise the welfare of our puppies. Therefore, it is essential for us to thoroughly evaluate any prospective buyers to ensure that they meet our standards for responsible pet ownership. This process, commonly known as 'vetting,' is crucial for us to ensure that our puppies go to safe, loving homes where they will receive the care and attention they deserve.
Yes, completing a puppy owner preliminary questionnaire is typically required before the vetting process begins. It helps gather essential information about your readiness and suitability to care for a puppy.
All of our puppies are registered with the Kennel Club. Upon collecting your new puppy, we will provide you with their Registration Information Document. This document will enable you to transfer the ownership of the puppy from us, the breeder, to you, the new owner. Additionally, you will also receive a copy of the pedigree certificate, which provides a unique record of your dog's family tree.
We have been breeding Labradors since 2018 however we have extensive knowledge of the breed since 2006. We have a thorough understanding of the breed standard, temperament, health issues, and genetic history. Crucially we have experience working with dogs, especially in breeding and raising puppies.
We have a good understanding of dog behaviour, training, and healthcare. Our environment is clean, safe, and spacious for our dogs to live and breed. We are prepared to spend a lot of time caring for our dogs, socialising puppies, and finding suitable homes for them.
Our most important commitment is the welfare of our dogs and their puppies.
The number of litters we have per year varies between 2 and 4, depending on the season and readiness of our girls.
Breeding a female dog should be approached with caution, taking into account the dog's health and well-being. It's crucial to adhere to strict breeding protocols to ensure the safety of the dog and her offspring.
At Isaiki Labradors, we have implemented stringent guidelines to prevent excessive breeding. Our female dogs, also known as bitches, are not allowed to produce more than one litter within a 11-month period, nor can they produce litters on consecutive seasons.
Additionally, we limit the maximum number of litter to four until the dam reaches the age of eight years old. This is an absolute requirement of our 5 star animal licence and Kennel Club Assured Breeder Scheme.
At our facility, we prioritise the health and well-being of our animals, ensuring they receive proper nutrition, exercise, and medical care. We also carefully select suitable breeding partners for our dogs to produce healthy and genetically diverse offspring. By following these strict breeding protocols, we strive to maintain the health and quality of our breeding dogs and produce happy and healthy puppies.
At our premises, we prioritise the health and wellbeing of our dogs and their offspring. To ensure the highest standards of health and genetic integrity, we utilise the British Veterinary Association and Kennel Club health schemes.
Our breeding stock, both male and female, undergo rigorous health screening, including hip and elbow scoring, eye tests, and full DNA tests for a range of genetic conditions such as EIC• + HNPK• + SD2• + CNM• + prcd-PRA• + STGD• + MCD•.
In fact, we test for a total of 204 known genetic health predispositions in the Labrador breed, ensuring that we are breeding only the healthiest dogs.
We believe that transparency is key, and we provide all relevant health certificates to new puppy buyers. You can rest assured that your new puppy has been bred with the utmost care and attention to health and genetic integrity, and that we have done everything in our power to ensure that they will grow up to be happy, healthy, and long-lived companions.
We ensure that all of our puppies receive a veterinary health check-up before they leave our home. As the new owner, we encourage you to have your puppy examined by a veterinarian within the first 3 days of taking them home to give you peace of mind.
If any health problems arise during this period and you can present a valid veterinary certificate, we will provide you with the choice to return the puppy in its original condition. We will refund your payment in full.
When buying a puppy, it's important to consider the potential risks associated with inbreeding, as highly inbred puppies may be more likely to inherit genetic diseases from their parents. At Isaiki Labradors, we take this issue seriously and strive to produce puppies with an inbreeding coefficient that is ideally as low as possible. If you'd like to learn more about inbreeding coefficients, we recommend visiting the Kennel Club website.
Certainly, providing the registration details of both the sire and dam of a dog can be very helpful in determining its health and genetic background. By having this information, you can check the health tests and inbreeding coefficient of the parents on the Kennel Club website, which can give you a better understanding of the dog's health and potential genetic risks. It's always recommended to gather as much information as possible when considering a new pet, and the registration details of its parents can be an important part of that process.
In order to prioritise the well-being of our puppies, we have implemented certain breeding restrictions in our contract. These restrictions automatically prohibit breeding from your puppy or using them as a stud. However, if you provide a full valid health check prior to considering breeding, these restrictions may be lifted at our discretion. It is important to note that the decision to lift the endorsement is based solely on the welfare of the puppy as they mature into adulthood.
As a Kennel Club Assured Breeder, if you find yourself unable to keep the puppy for the duration of their life, we request that you kindly provide us with the first opportunity to find a suitable home for the puppy. We would greatly appreciate it if you could bring the puppy back to us, so that we can assist in ensuring their future welfare. You shall receive any monies received once he/she has found a new suitable home, however, please be aware this will be significanly lower than your original purchase price.
To socialise our puppies we follow these steps:
1 . Handling: we handle our puppies frequently to help them become comfortable with human interaction and touch.
2. Exposure to new people and environments: The puppies are introduced to new people, places, and experiences to help them become accustomed to different sights, sounds, and smells. This may include exposure to other animals, different types of flooring surfaces, and secured/safe outdoor environments.
3. Playtime with littermates: Puppies learn important social skills and bite inhibition by playing with their littermates.
We allow our puppies to engage in supervised playtime to develop these skills.
4. Positive reinforcement training: we start with basic training with our puppies, such as crate training and housebreaking, using positive reinforcement methods. This helps our puppies learn good behaviour and positive associations with training.
Overall, we provide our puppies with plenty of socialisation opportunities to help them become well-adjusted and confident dogs giving them a good start in life.
As part of our comprehensive socialisation protocol, once our puppies reach the age of 8 weeks and receive their initial vaccinations, they have the opportunity to engage in indoor activities, including puppy yoga and puppy therapy sessions in the workplace.
These activities are conducted at trusted local businesses within a reasonable distance from our home. These experiences are designed to enhance their socialisation skills, ensuring that they are well-prepared for a future filled with love and joy in their forever homes.
Our puppies are known for their friendly and outgoing temperament, making them a popular choice as family pets. They typically have a playful and curious nature, and are eager to please. They are good with children and other pets.
Our puppies have a reputation to be intelligent and easily trainable. They respond well to positive reinforcement training and enjoy learning new things. While individual puppies may have different personalities and temperaments, our puppies are generally known for being affectionate, loyal, and easy-going.
It's important to note that proper socialisation and training are important for any animal to help them develop into a well-behaved adult dog.
As responsible breeders, we welcome prospective owners to visit our 5 Star top-rated facilities and meet our dam and her puppies once they reach at least 5 weeks old. However, we would like to inform you that the sire may not always be available on-site.
We are more than happy to address any queries you may have regarding the parents' behaviour, health, and living conditions. Meeting both the dam and sire will also provide you with an insight into the potential adult size and personality traits of the puppies.
Please note that prior appointments are mandatory, as we adhere to specific visitation protocols to ensure the wellbeing and safety of our dogs and puppies.
Yes, this is an absolute requirement.
We require an ID and proof of address before any potential new puppy buyer can come to our home. This information is required for security purposes and to ensure the safety of our puppies.
By following these steps, we can ensure that the person who wants to visit our puppies is a legitimate visitor and that the puppies are safe.
We are a responsible breeder, therefore we take steps to prevent and address any potential behavioural or health issues that may arise with our puppies.
1. Health issues: all our puppies are examined by our veterinarian for a comprehensive health check and receive necessary vaccinations and deworming treatments before they leave our home.
2. Behavioural issues We work tirelessly to socialise and train our puppies to prevent potential behavioural issues, such as separation anxiety.
3. Support for new owners: We offer support and advice to new owners throughout the life of the puppy. We provide information on nutrition, training, and health care, and we are available to answer any questions or concerns that you as a new owner may have.
Overall, we take steps to ensure that our puppies are healthy and well-behaved, and we offer support and resources to new owners to help them provide the best possible care for their new lifetime friend.
Yes absolutely, as a reputable breeder and dedicated to producing healthy and well-adjusted puppies we can provide references from previous buyers upon request.
We also encourage you to read our testimonials section and Google reviews.
Paying a deposit for a puppy is a common practice among breeders to ensure that potential owners are committed to the purchase and that as a breeder we can plan accordingly for the arrival of the puppy.
It's important to note that deposits is non-refundable, so it's essential to do thorough research on the breeder and the puppy before committing to the purchase.
There will be a contract that outlines the terms and conditions of the sale, including the deposit and refund policy.
However in the unlikely event your puppy does not pass the veterinary health check you will have the option of having your deposit returned.
Certainly! After we have mutually vetted each other and agreed that we are satisfied with the arrangement for your new puppy to go to their forever home, we will be more than happy to provide you with regular updates on your puppy's progress.
These updates will come in the form of videos and photos, and will continue until the agreed upon collection day, which will be when your puppy reaches a minimum of 8 weeks of age as it is important to wait until the puppy is fully weaned and has had enough time to develop.
We understand that waiting for your new furry family member can be an exciting and anxious time, and we want to make sure you feel connected to your puppy during this period. We take pride in providing top-notch care and attention to our puppies, and we want to share their growth and development with you every step of the way.
