Frequently Asked Questions

Can’t find the answer you need? Please use our Contact Us form.

All puppy enquiries must begin through the Contact Us form on our website.

Before contacting us, please read our FAQs carefully so you understand our process, puppy price, deposit terms and what to expect from Isaiki.

If you would then like to proceed, use the Contact Us form to request our Preliminary Questionnaire. Once returned, we will review it and, if suitable, invite you to the next stage of our enquiry process.

We do not begin puppy enquiries by telephone or WhatsApp, and we do not operate a traditional waiting list.

 • All puppy enquiries begin through the Contact Us form on our website. Before contacting us, please read our FAQs carefully so you understand our process, puppy price and what to expect.

• If you would like to proceed, use the Contact Us form to request our Puppy Owners’ Preliminary Questionnaire. We do not process puppy enquiries or questionnaire requests by telephone, WhatsApp, social media or informal messages.

• Once we receive your completed questionnaire, we will review it carefully. If we believe you could be a suitable match for an Isaiki puppy, we will let you know the next step.

• We do not operate a traditional waiting list. Please follow our website and Instagram for confirmed pregnancies, births and litter updates.

• Two weeks after the puppies are born, applicants who wish to proceed should contact us to arrange the video call. Isaiki does not chase applicants or send reminders.

As a responsible breeder, we prioritise the welfare of our puppies. Therefore, it is essential for us to thoroughly evaluate any prospective buyers to ensure that they meet our standards for responsible pet ownership. This process, commonly known as 'vetting,' is crucial for us to ensure that our puppies go to safe, loving homes where they will receive the care and attention they deserve.

Once the puppies are two weeks old and you contact us to proceed, Isaiki Labradors will offer you three available appointment times for the one-hour WhatsApp vetting call.

If none of those are suitable, we will offer the next three available appointments until a suitable time is found.

Applicants are not asked to propose their own appointment dates. All appointments are scheduled around the care and welfare needs of our dogs and puppies, while also allowing us to manage applications fairly and consistently.

Yes. Our preliminary puppy owner questionnaire is the first step of our vetting process. It allows us to understand your experience, expectations and suitability to welcome an Isaiki Labrador into your home.

We kindly ask that the questionnaire is requested only when you feel the time is genuinely right to welcome a puppy, as for GDPR compliance we do not retain questionnaires beyond six months.

For this reason, we encourage prospective puppy parents to carefully review the information provided on our website and FAQs first to ensure our philosophy and process align with their expectations before requesting the questionnaire.

The questionnaire must be completed in full using the original form provided and returned in the same format. Incomplete questionnaires, altered versions, or answers copied into the body of an email will not be processed. This allows us to review every application consistently and fairly.

If you wish to proceed, the questionnaire can be requested via the Contact Us section of our website.

No. Isaiki Labradors does not operate a traditional waiting list.

Our puppy allocation process is applicant-led, and the responsibility for making contact at each stage rests with the applicant.

If, after reading our website, you decide that an Isaiki Labrador is right for you, the process is as follows:

  • Request and complete our Preliminary Questionnaire via the Contact Us form on our website.
  • If your questionnaire is suitable, we will confirm that you are eligible to progress to the next stage.
  • Once a pregnancy has been confirmed, we will announce it on our website and Instagram.
  • Two weeks after the puppies are born, it is the applicant’s responsibility to contact us to arrange a one-hour WhatsApp video call as part of our vetting process.
  • We do not contact applicants individually or send reminders to progress through the process.

This approach allows us to devote our time and attention to raising our dogs and puppies while ensuring that prospective owners remain actively engaged throughout the process.

All of our puppies are registered with the Kennel Club. Upon collecting your new puppy, we will provide you with their Registration Information Document. This document will enable you to transfer the ownership of the puppy from us, the breeder, to you, the new owner. Additionally, you will also receive a copy of the pedigree certificate, which provides a unique record of your dog's family tree.

We have been breeding Labradors since 2018 however we have extensive knowledge of the breed since 2006. We have a thorough understanding of the breed standard, temperament, health issues, and genetic history. Crucially we have experience working with dogs, especially in breeding and raising puppies.

We have a good understanding of dog behaviour, training, and healthcare. Our environment is clean, safe, and spacious for our dogs to live and breed. We are prepared to spend a lot of time caring for our dogs, socialising puppies, and finding suitable homes for them.

Our most important commitment is the welfare of our dogs and their puppies.

The number of litters we have per year varies between 2 and 4, depending on the season and readiness of our girls.

Breeding a female dog should be approached with caution, taking into account the dog's health and well-being. It's crucial to adhere to strict breeding protocols to ensure the safety of the dog and her offspring.

At Isaiki Labradors, we have implemented stringent guidelines to prevent excessive breeding. Our female dogs, also known as bitches, are not allowed to produce more than one litter within an 11-month period, nor can they produce litters on consecutive seasons.

Additionally, we limit the maximum number of litters  to four  until the dam reaches eight years of age. This is an absolute requirement of our 5 star animal licence.

At our facility, we prioritise the health and well-being of our animals, ensuring they receive proper nutrition, exercise, and medical care. We also carefully select suitable breeding partners for our dogs to produce healthy and genetically diverse offspring. By following these strict breeding protocols, we strive to maintain the health and quality of our breeding dogs and produce happy and healthy puppies.

Health and temperament are central to every breeding decision at Isaiki Labradors.

Our breeding dogs undergo appropriate health screening through recognised BVA/Kennel Club schemes, including hip and elbow scoring, eye testing and DNA screening relevant to Labrador Retrievers, including EIC, HNPK, SD2, CNM, prcd-PRA, STGD and MCD.

Health testing helps us make informed and responsible breeding decisions; it cannot guarantee that any dog will remain free from all health conditions throughout life.

We believe strongly in transparency. Relevant health results for the sire and dam are available to prospective owners, and supporting documentation is provided with your puppy paperwork.

When buying a puppy, it's important to consider the potential risks associated with inbreeding, as highly inbred puppies may be more likely to inherit genetic diseases from their parents. At Isaiki Labradors, we take this issue seriously and strive to produce puppies with an inbreeding coefficient that is ideally as low as possible. If you'd like to learn more about inbreeding coefficients, we recommend visiting the Kennel Club website.

Every Isaiki puppy receives a full veterinary health examination before leaving us.

No puppy will go to their new home without a valid, signed veterinary health certificate confirming the outcome of that examination.

As part of our commitment to transparency, we also provide families with video footage of the veterinary consultation, allowing them to see their puppy being examined.

Healthy beginnings. Responsible breeding. Nothing hidden. ❤️

Every puppy is examined by our vet before leaving Isaiki and is supplied with a valid veterinary health certificate.

We strongly recommend that new owners arrange an examination with their own veterinary surgeon within three days of collection.

If that examination identifies a significant health condition that was present at the time the puppy left our care, please contact us immediately and provide the relevant veterinary documentation.

In accordance with the terms of our puppy contract, you will then have the option to return the puppy to Isaiki and receive a full refund of the purchase price.

Full terms are set out in the puppy contract provided before collection.

Certainly, providing the registration details of both the sire and dam of a dog can be very helpful in determining its health and genetic background. By having this information, you can check the health tests and inbreeding coefficient of the parents on the Royal Kennel Club website, which can give you a better understanding of the dog's health and potential genetic risks. It's always recommended to gather as much information as possible when considering a new pet, and the registration details of its parents can be an important part of that process.

In order to prioritise the well-being of our puppies, we have implemented certain breeding restrictions in our contract. These restrictions automatically prohibit breeding from your puppy or using them as a stud. However, if you provide a full valid health check prior to considering breeding, these restrictions may be lifted at our discretion. It is important to note that the decision to lift the endorsement is based solely on the welfare of the puppy as they mature into adulthood.

An Isaiki Labrador should never be left without somewhere safe to go.

If at any point during your dog’s life you are no longer able to care for them, we ask that you contact us first. Isaiki must be given the opportunity to assist with their return or, where appropriate, help find a suitable new home.

Any rehoming will be handled with the dog’s welfare as the priority and in accordance with the terms of our puppy contract.

Where a dog is subsequently rehomed and a payment is received, any monies due to the previous owner will be dealt with in accordance with the contract. This should not be expected to equal the original puppy purchase price.

Our commitment to an Isaiki Labrador does not end when they leave us.

To socialise our puppies we follow these steps:

1 . Handling: we handle our puppies frequently to help them become comfortable with human interaction and touch.

2. Exposure to new people and environments: The puppies are introduced to new people, places, and experiences to help them become accustomed to different sights, sounds, and smells. This may include exposure to other animals, different types of flooring surfaces, and secured/safe outdoor environments.

3. Playtime with littermates: Puppies learn important social skills and bite inhibition by playing with their littermates. We allow our puppies to engage in supervised playtime to develop these skills.

4.  Early training and routine: we introduce puppies to positive handling, toileting routines, household sounds, different surfaces, recall foundations and settling calmly in the home, using positive reinforcement throughout.

5. Overall, we provide our puppies with plenty of socialisation opportunities to help them become well-adjusted and confident dogs giving them a good start in life.

Where age, vaccination status and circumstances allow, our puppies may also take part in carefully managed experiences beyond the home, including puppy yoga and workplace therapy sessions.

These activities are conducted at trusted local businesses within a reasonable distance from our home. These experiences are designed to enhance their socialisation skills, ensuring that they are well-prepared for a future filled with love and joy in their forever homes.

Labradors are generally known for being affectionate, sociable and people-focused, and these are qualities we actively value in our breeding programme.

Each puppy is an individual, however, and temperament can vary within a litter. Our puppies are raised with extensive handling, socialisation and exposure to everyday life to help them develop into confident, adaptable young dogs.

Ongoing training, socialisation and appropriate boundaries remain essential as they mature.

Yes, but only once you have successfully completed our full vetting process and a puppy has been formally reserved for you following payment of the £500 non-refundable deposit.

Isaiki Labradors is not a puppy viewing centre and we do not offer informal visits at the enquiry stage. Extensive information about our dogs, breeding programme, health testing, licensing, puppy-raising philosophy and facilities is available through our website, Instagram and official records.

Approved families are welcome to visit from 6 weeks of age, by prior appointment. At this stage, puppies have been microchipped and their individual personalities are becoming clearer, making the visit far more meaningful when considering the best match for your family.

Meeting the dam, and the sire where available, can also provide useful insight into likely adult size, temperament and physical traits.

All visits are arranged around the care and welfare needs of our dogs and puppies.

Yes, this is an absolute requirement.

We require an ID and proof of address before any potential new puppy buyer can come to our home. This information is required for security purposes and to ensure the safety of our puppies.

By following these steps, we can ensure that the person who wants to visit our puppies is a legitimate visitor and that the puppies are safe.

Yes. At Isaiki Labradors, a £500 non-refundable deposit confirms your commitment and secures your place for an available puppy within the agreed litter, subject to our puppy-matching process.

When is the deposit paid?
Deposits are taken only once you have successfully completed our vetting process, the required identification has been received, and we have confirmed availability for your requested sex and colour.

Once these stages have been completed, a deposit invoice will be issued. The deposit must be paid within 24 hours of the invoice being sent.

We do not chase unpaid deposits or send reminders. A place is not secured until cleared funds have been received. If payment is not received within the stated timeframe, the offer will automatically lapse and the puppy may be offered to another approved family.

Once your deposit has been received, we will issue a deposit receipt within 72 hours. Please allow us this time to process the paperwork, particularly during busy puppy periods, when the care and welfare of our dogs and puppies will always take priority.

Is the deposit refundable?
Deposits are non-refundable, so please ensure you have carried out thorough research and are ready to proceed before making payment.

In exceptional circumstances, Isaiki Labradors may agree to transfer a deposit to a future litter for a specified period.

A transferred deposit retains its monetary value during the agreed period, but it does not create an open-ended reservation, automatic priority, waiting-list position or entitlement to a puppy from any future litter.

Families wishing to use a transferred deposit must express their interest in a specific planned litter in good time, so that they can be included in that litter’s planning and allocation process.

If no interest is expressed in a particular litter, Isaiki Labradors will not assume that the family wishes to be considered for it.

A transferred deposit does not allow an applicant to join a litter at the last minute ahead of families who have already followed the current application process.

Health check reassurance
No puppy will leave our care without a valid, signed veterinary health check certificate completed by our vet.

In the unlikely event that a puppy allocated to you does not pass their veterinary health check, you will have the option to receive your deposit back.

Once deposits are in place, we begin considering the most suitable match between each puppy and their future family. Matching takes into account temperament, personality, family circumstances, lifestyle and any stated preferences.

While we will always take preferences such as sex and colour into account, no applicant has an automatic right to a particular puppy. Our priority is to make the best possible match for both puppy and family.

Final matching takes place once the puppies are around 6 weeks old and have been microchipped, when their individual personalities are becoming clearer.

Each puppy also leaves Isaiki with their own individual Temperament & Personality Profile, prepared from our observations throughout the weeks they spend in our care. This provides their new family with a personal record of the puppy we have come to know, their character, confidence, preferences, interactions and developing personality.

For us, matching is not simply about choosing a puppy. It is about understanding each individual puppy well enough to help place them with the family and lifestyle we believe will suit them best.

We hope this profile gives each family a meaningful head start in understanding their puppy as an individual, helping them recognise their needs, build confidence and support their development from the very beginning of life together.

We take a preventative, welfare-led approach to both health and behaviour.

Every puppy receives veterinary care, appropriate worming, vaccination and a full health examination before leaving us. Our puppies are also raised with extensive handling, socialisation, positive experiences and age-appropriate foundations for life in a family home.

No breeder can guarantee that a dog will never experience a health or behavioural issue. Genetics, development, environment, training and life experiences can all play a part.

What we can guarantee is lifetime Isaiki support. Owners can contact us for guidance throughout their dog’s life, whether the question relates to development, behaviour, training, nutrition or general care.

Yes absolutely, as a reputable breeder and dedicated to producing healthy and well-adjusted puppies we can provide references from previous buyers upon request.

We also encourage you to read our testimonials section and Google reviews.

Certainly! After we have mutually vetted each other and agreed that we are satisfied with the arrangement for your new puppy to go to their forever home, we will be more than happy to provide you with regular updates on your puppy's progress.

These updates will come in the form of videos and photos, and will continue until the agreed upon collection day, which will be when your puppy reaches a minimum of 8 weeks of age as it is important to wait until the puppy is fully weaned and has had enough time to develop.

We understand that waiting for your new furry family member can be an exciting and anxious time, and we want to make sure you feel connected to your puppy during this period. We take pride in providing top-notch care and attention to our puppies, and we want to share their growth and development with you every step of the way.

Our puppies currently receive Nobivac DHP and Nobivac L4 as their initial vaccination programme, administered in accordance with our veterinary practice’s advice.

DHP provides protection against canine distemper, infectious canine hepatitis and parvovirus, while L4 provides protection against four groups of Leptospira bacteria associated with leptospirosis.

Your puppy’s vaccination record will be included in their paperwork so that your own vet can continue the appropriate vaccination schedule.

The first vaccination is included in the puppy price. If, because of the puppy’s age at collection, we need to arrange the second vaccination before they leave us, an additional £55 is added to the final balance to cover this cost.

We use Panacur Liquid as part of a careful worming programme for both mum and her puppies.

  • Mum is wormed daily with Panacur from day 42 of pregnancy until 2 days after whelping. This helps protect both her and her litter from roundworms and reduces the risk of passing worms on to the pups.
  • Puppies are wormed with Panacur Liquid at 2, 5, and 8 weeks of age, given as a 3-day course each time. This ensures they have the best possible protection during their early development.

It’s normal for some puppies to experience a mild upset tummy (such as softer stools) while on Panacur, but this usually settles quickly. When your puppy goes home, it’s important to continue worming as they grow. We recommend treating every 12 weeks using a vet-approved wormer (such as Drontal or Milbemax), but your own vet can advise on the best schedule for your pup’s lifestyle.

No, we don’t routinely use flea treatments on our dogs or puppies, as we’ve never had fleas in our breeding dogs or environment. The only animals we treat are our outdoor cats, and they receive prescription only Bravecto Plus, as this makes a huge difference compared to over the counter products.

We don’t believe in adding unnecessary chemicals to a puppy when there’s no evidence of fleas. If a pup were ever to show signs, we would, of course, treat promptly with a veterinary prescribed product.

Our puppies are weaned onto Royal Canin Mother & Babydog before transitioning onto Royal Canin Puppy food as they approach 8 weeks.

We provide feeding guidance when your puppy leaves us so you can continue their diet consistently at home. UK families also receive the relevant Royal Canin puppy support available through our breeder partnership.

Every Isaiki puppy leaves with a comprehensive puppy pack and all relevant paperwork, including:

  • Kennel Club registration documentation and pedigree information
  • signed puppy contract
  • microchip details

  • 4 weeks Petplan insurance

We want every puppy to leave with continuity, familiar information and the support their new family needs from day one.

Our Labrador puppies at Isaiki Labradors are priced at £1800.

This reflects the level of care, breeding selection, early socialisation and attention that goes into raising each litter. We carefully select our breeding dogs not only for health, but also for their temperament, as this forms an important foundation for the puppies.

Our puppies are not raised in kennels, they grow up in an open, real-life environment, with early exposure to everyday life and interaction with our adult dogs.

This approach plays a significant role in producing puppies that are calm, confident, and able to settle quickly into their new homes.

The price also includes ongoing support from us, as well as access to our Isaiki Labradors community, ensuring you are supported not just at the point of purchase, but throughout your journey with your dog.

We understand we may not be the right fit for everyone, but we are committed to maintaining the standards that our puppies are known for.

All initial puppy enquiries must be made through the Contact Us form on our website.

Once an enquiry has progressed and we are corresponding with you directly, communication may continue by email as appropriate.

We do not begin puppy enquiries through telephone calls, WhatsApp, social media or informal messages.

At Isaiki Labradors, our dogs are first and foremost part of our family, not kennel dogs. They live with us and our puppies are raised in an open, real-life environment where they are exposed to everyday sights, sounds, and activity from the very beginning.

A key part of our approach is early socialisation. Our puppies are not raised in isolation , they are safely introduced to our adult dogs and grow up observing and interacting within a natural social structure.

This plays a significant role in shaping their confidence and behaviour.

Because of this early-life experience, our puppies are known for:

  • Settling quickly into their new homes
  • Being calm and adaptable
  • Feeling comfortable around people and other dogs

This kind of foundation is built during the first few weeks of life and cannot be replicated later.

When you choose a puppy from Isaiki Labradors, you’re not just bringing home a dog, you’re benefiting from a carefully considered upbringing designed to give your puppy the very best start.

Beyond this, we offer ongoing support through our dedicated WhatsApp group and wider Isaiki Labradors community. We stay connected with our owners, offering guidance and reassurance whenever it’s needed.

For us, this is not just about placing puppies, it’s about building long-term relationships and supporting both you and your dog throughout your journey together.
